My dear husband, bless his heart, wants me to document the state of our dining room while I am building my art display for the Hermitage Fall Festival. (exhibit A, to the left) Yes. Yes, I do make quite a mess. Kind of a metaphor for life, don't you think? Things get messy. That just seems to be part of the process when engaged in living. And it keeps me humble as I muddle around making sense of things. In the midst of the piles and clutter and chaos, little paths of light emerge; new ideas, insights, solutions start to take shape. A lesson might be learned or a question (that I didn't even know I had) might be answered. Don't we all aim to have our ducks in a row, our closets organized and the laundry folded and put away? I do...but if I want to take a risk and try something new then I am also taking a chance that my ducks will get all over the place. Life just isn't going to be tidy or easy or predictable so go ahead and get messy everybody...it feels kind of good! Don't forget, next weekend is the Fall Fest...Be There!! My display will be in the "Rachel's Corner" tent, along with several other artists. There will be music and food, arts and crafts, all in a beautiful, historical setting.

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
