This art book collecting is getting to be a habit. I found the Sorolla and the Sargent at a local used book store and could not resist! Sargent in Italy?? Oh my! I so hope it will guide and influence my painting of our time in Venice and Tuscany. And I love love love Joaquin Sorolla's beautiful figures. Studying Master Painters is such a good discipline, informing the part of my brain that stores all the pieces of artist trivia (light, edge, shape, color) and, hopefully, oozing back out into my paintings. The beautiful Impressionism book was a birthday present and was from a wonderful art show at the Seattle Art Museum. I didn't get to see the actual show, but I have all the amazing art from it in book form and am very grateful for such a special gift!
That is all. Thank you for reading!!

It's that time again! Time to get ready for the 2016 Tomato Art Fest...at least it's time for artists to get ready. Paintings must get painted, signed, varnished, titled, submitted; so many steps to the process! I got a jump on it this year and worked on my paintings this spring. They are just about ready and you can have a sneak peak. And if you see one you can't live without, I won't mind at all having one less for the show!

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
