I'm sitting here at my computer, watching the curser blink, thinking what to write about my dear mother-in-law; what she meant to me, how she lived her life, what was important to her. She passed away 19 days ago, slipping from this world unexpectedly quickly considering how long and steadily she handled her Parkinsons. Warren's sisters and dad were by her side and when it was clear we wouldn't get there in time, we were able to say our love & goodbyes via telephone and took comfort in hearing that her eyelids fluttered a bit at the sound of our voices. We flew to Seattle 3 days later; all the familiar feelings of home affected by her absence. So strange for her to not be in this world anymore. Family and friends gathered to remember and honor Vida. She never really liked being the center of attention, but she loved having her family gathered together. She would have loved the goodness of that gathering of friends, cousins, brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren. The art of life. La bella vita. Her beautiful life. Vida Marie Ervin

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
