In the last few weeks I have discovered the one thing that is able to eclipse my passion for painting (and, by default, my enjoyment of sharing thoughts in this blog) and that one thing is my only daughter's wedding! The Covid 19 pandemic compelled us, for the safety of our beloved family and friends, to postpone for an extra year, but thanks be to God, we were able to have a safe and happy wedding earlier this month! Here are some photos of our delightful day: Post wedding was a lovely season of rest and time with dear friends, walking the beach and being still and quiet. Now refreshed, I'm painting once again and preparing for three upcoming art shows in the next few weeks. The first one begins in 5 days! Expect another blog very soon!
Thanks for sharing my beautiful wedding joy!

I am now going to tell you that during the wedding I truly did NOT notice the hair crisis at all! But, since you told us the sad saga I have scanned every photo of you that day looking carefully for signs of it. It's really, really hard to find and that is because nothing, not hair, not spinach stuck in your teeth, not mascara mishaps, (only one of which actually was affected) could dim your joy in the slightest. And that's what I see when I look at these pictures: Pure Joy. And that's what I remember in my soul when I recount the event in my own mind or by telling others. You were the best motherofthebride I have encountered since my own gig as motherofthebride. (I was truly unflappable too.) I consider it one of the best days in the past decade, and I thank you for all of it!

What a sweet and lovely tribute! I accept with delight all your generous accolades. It was a close call with the hair disaster, but it wouldn’t be a perfect wedding without a handful of imperfections, right? Joy!

It definitely was a perfect day, in spite of minor mishaps, but you, Gay Weidkamp, were my hero! Rescuing me from a hair disaster with your talent (and my hairspray) I am so grateful for all the dear friends who shared the day with us.

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
