Wendy, I love this. A fun diversion from the landscapes. Sweet like your little bird series. Maybe a chicken/rooster series !!

I loved the way you captured the light with the light paint. It makes the sweet chicken look like it is in the sunlight warming itself.

Thanks for all the great comments! (I love comments). She is a happy, social chicken and though I did paint this very quickly (a couple hours) I had to rely on a photo because, if there's one thing I've learned about chickens it's that they are in perpetual motion! And shape- shifting, Brad. I gave this painting to my CSA provider, Judy, who also owns all the chickens.

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
