So I did a few other paintings during our stay in Mazatlan. These were either painted plein air or using photo references from the previous day or two. It really does make a difference, when using photos, to have been present in those experiences: to remember the colors and atmosphere, the sounds and movement of those places and then to communicate that life into the paintings. Here are four of the ones I'm ready to share. I have a few more that I want to ponder over. Learning to capture believable figures on canvas is a new challenge I'm taking on and I have some great photo references from a visiting Mariachi band that I would love to paint.

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
