An Art Exhibition and Sale
The Chestnut Group, Plein Air Painters for the Land, and The Andrew Jackson Foundation have partnered for a very special event.
This art exhibition and sale features recent works painted on The Hermitage grounds by Chestnut Group members and will be held at The Cabin By The Spring
Friday, April 21st and Saturday, April 22nd
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days
The paintings feature Rachel’s Garden, the mansion and other historic buildings, landscapes, and much more. Proceeds will benefit The Andrew Jackson Foundation and The Chestnut Group.
Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage is located at 4580 Rachel’s Lane, Hermitage, TN 37076,  just 10 miles outside of Nashville. This event is free and open to the public, with or without purchasing a ticket to tour the mansion and the grounds.

I meant to publish this post before the Hermitage show but since I didn't it will now be a report on what went down! Basically rain...what went down was lots of rain! However the opening evening of the show was still very pretty inside the venue. Beautifully catered and located in a rustic log building filled with amazing paintings.

I have three really positive things to report:  #1 my big painting was positioned next to Roger Dale Brown's masterpiece! (this feels like an amazing moment in my art journey, to be included with Master Artists so much further along with their skill)  #2 two of my paintings sold during the weekend! (the church and the turkeys) and #3 because of the terrible weather and low patron turnout, the Hermitage Foundation chose several Chestnut paintings to display/sell at their next event in May, 700 attendees expected and Laura Bush is the keynote speaker! My plein air painting of Rachel's Rest was among the selected!! #feelingblessed

Don't forget to drop in and see the Small Treasure's exhibit if you can! It is up until May 18 at the Sumner County Visitor's Bureau on Gallatin Rd/Nashville Pike near the Kroger Marketplace, open 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday. Lots of fun, good small paintings, photos, and pottery. Nothing over $150 and many pieces well under $100.
Supporting local artists is good for your soul!!!

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...
