Going to Mexico midwinter has become an annual event...we need the sunshine and a reunion with the Pacific Ocean! I brought along paints and easel, did a little plein air painting, and morning painting from the photos taken the day before (those will be in a later post). I still feel "not ready for primetime" when it comes to painting plein air in more populated parts of the city. Plus, I think my body guard spouse would get kind of restless after an hour or so. He was terrific, however, at Cerritos beach, watching out for me while I was occasionally surrounded by ninos and ninas. My take-away lesson that day was: wear double strength sunblock! The next several days involved dealing with a first degree sunburn :((

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
