I seem to like painting in 3's...a little cluster on the same theme. There's something kind of satisfying about a group of paintings telling a story together. The story I'm working on right now is from our trip in 2013 to the Provence region of France. Our college-aged daughter provided us with a wonderful excuse (as if one is needed!) to visit her while she was living and studying at the University of Marseille. Her campus was in Aix en Provence, so we found a darling apartment to rent for a week right outside the center of the city. We could walk just a few minutes and be on Cours Mirabeau! But I'm not painting Aix right now; I'm painting scenes from the market days we seemed to stumble on in many of the other villages and towns we visited. I can't even begin to describe the charm and utter enchantment of walking through narrow cobbled streets, low arches, unexpected fountains and finding yet another lively French market in full swing. What I hope to capture in these paintings is that feeling of stumbling on a sweet and memorable experience. If somehow that feeling can be bottled and recreated on the canvas then I am happy! one on the easel and another below/right.... and one ready to sign! Thank you for viewing my art!!

i still remember when i said I was in my "blue period" of quilting- similar kind of thing! Actually, blue finds it's way into lots of my quilts, can't seem to keep up with my ideas though. So happy for your success, but mainly for doing something that brings such enjoyment and satisfaction!

Thanks, Jan...I do love painting. Hours can go by and I barely notice! Lots of room for growth, for the rest of my life I'm sure!

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am passionate about oil painting! Whether in the studio or out in Mother Nature, I get lost in the experience of capturing on canvas the moment and the feel of what I am painting. I pour my love and energy into every single piece of artwork and I hope it shows! This blog is a place where I can use words to talk about art, painting, life, faith, things that make me laugh, and things that inspire. I love every response, so don't be shy about leaving a comment...Archives
