A week's work

I did not paint plein air this year in Mexico. I certainly need the practice and experience, but this year I decided to take the first week off and enjoy our vacation with friends. The second week I pulled out paints and pochade box and painted from photos of Tennessee, little mini paintings, 4x6, to frame and put in our Spring Small Treasures art show. I intentionally constructed the paintings with careful value choices, color notes, lines of composition...all good exercises of lessons learned. Here are the 5 paintings still in the state I left them in after a single session of around one hour. I will give each of them a little "tickle" to correct a few things and make them read better (like the deer in the middle one), but I want to preserve the loose, spontaneous feel of them as little images of lovely Tennessee.
