Celebrating 10 years of Painting!!
Ten years ago I walked into a lovely little art studio and started my first oil painting class...no previous experience, no idea how to do any of it; just a deep desire and a ton of motivation. Thank goodness no one told me how much I would need to learn! And how the learning and growth never stops.
To celebrate the long distance I have come, I will be offering a number of my paintings at significantly reduced prices to you, my delightful subscribers. You have been reading my blog, coming to art shows I've been in, encouraging me along the way and I want to show my appreciation to you!
Through the years I have written about the painting process and my experiences with one primary goal in mind, and that is to enhance your experience in viewing and understanding representational, impressionist paintings and to encourage you all to value original art. I hope that you visit galleries, art shows, museums and feel the energy of the artist in the art. How else can I say this except that you need original art on your own walls! It is worth the cost!
Every few weeks I will be posting several paintings priced at $200 or less (following the Artist Support Pledge guidelines)
This means that I, too, will commit to buying original art along with you. Of course, I want you to be completely happy with your purchase, so returns are accepted if you aren't satisfied. All paintings are sold unframed, some are stretched canvas and some are on canvas/linen panels. Postage is $10.

"Corniglia"
11x14 Oil on Canvas
$200
Cinque Terra: if you are in the mood for enchantment, this is the place! Worth every step of the steep walk up from the train station, especially when you get to pass organic lemon groves and ice cream stands. The afternoon sun grabbed onto the honey-yellow buildings and did not let go.

"The Lighthouse Window"
9x12 $125
I painted this from a photo I took looking out the window of Loophead Lighthouse in County Clare, Ireland. The view of the wild Atlantic Sea made me so grateful for the snug B&B waiting for us at the end of the day.

"Field and Stream"
11x14 Oil on Stretched Canvas
$200
Tennessee has just about every terrain except desert and ocean beaches. This is a frequently viewed scene of stream, fallow field, and hillside beyond. The trees lose their leaves in late autumn and many do not leaf out again until late March, but when they do the whole state is every shade of green.

"Marsh Sunset"
9x12 Oil on Panel
$150
This is a brilliant golden-hued painting, mostly done with palette knife in tonal values to capture the simplicity of light, water, and marshy foliage.

"Copper Creek"
9x12 Oil on Panel
$150
Have you ever wondered why there are so many brick homes in the South? Red clay soil, that is why. Especially in East Tennessee, the ground is primarily clay and creates a beautiful dynamic along the creeks and stream beds. (Although, a little tough to deal with if you're a gardener)

"Slippery When White"
11x14
Oil on Panel
$200
When the snow hits Tennessee the rural roads are almost impassable and four-wheel drive essential. Even though it's white and pretty, it is also wet and icy. Much care is taken on the trek to get eggs, bread, and milk!
